A Message from the President

Kim Edgren
Happy spring to all! Even after a mild winter, the warm sunshine is invigorating! I want to thank Jim Schaffer, our former President, for all his work and his help to bring myself and the rest of the Board up to speed. I look forward to keeping our community moving onward with some great community improvements. Your team of Trustees is working hard to bring our landscaping and grounds up a notch and our new irrigation system will be refreshing help! We are working hard finalizing this and other improvements as well.

Thanks to all who could make our Special Meeting in March. Everyone's feedback was appreciated and we hope to keep the lines of communication open in the coming months.

So for now, enjoy the weather, and I hope to see you all as we venture out of hibernation and enjoy our community.

Trash Etiquette

bulletTrash day is Tuesday.
bulletPlease break down boxes. Empty boxes take up unnecessary dumpster space.
bulletThrow trash to the rear of the dumpster.
bulletDo not leave trash outside of the dumpster. Both dumpsters are rarely completely full; If one is full, please use the other.
bulletDo not put hazardous material (paint, paint thinners, herbicides, tires, automobile oil, car batteries, etc.) in the dumpsters. TV’s and computer monitors (any processed glass tube used to provide visual display) are also considered hazardous waste. Hazardous materials must be disposed of as decreed by the Town of Grafton and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Call the Municipal Center for instructions.
bulletLarge appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.) or other large items (furniture, mattresses, etc.) cannot be placed in dumpsters. It is the unit owner’s responsibility to dispose of these items. Call the Municipal Center or a private waste removal service for instructions.
bulletNo containers used for rubbish, junk, or trash can be placed in any Common Areas (this includes decks).

Recycling

Why should I recycle?
Recycling reduces waste in landfills and recovers valuable raw materials. Recycling decreases disturbance to the environment by mining for raw materials, reduces pollution and saves energy that would have been expended when making products from unrecycled raw materials.

What should I recycle?

bulletglass
bulletaluminum
bulletsteel and bimetal cans
bulletplastics
bulletpaper

What are Muntins?

Muntins are the wooden slats that divide our windows into panes. These muntins must be in good condition and kept in the windows to maintain the architectural symmetry of our community.

Phoenix does not supply window muntins and they can be very difficult to find. You can buy muntins for your weathersheild windows at Wickes Lumber in Hopedale, MA, 508-478-8406.
Note: This does not apply to Buildings D & E (new buildings), which have muntins built in between the panes for glass.

Reminders:
bulletOur board meeting is typically the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be May 8th, 2002.
bulletPet Owners—All pets must be leashed or carried in the common areas, and please scoop the poop.
